It's a cool-toned pink-red lip that's perfect for those with lots of flaky skin, as it doesn't emphasize the flakes and has the right balance of high pigmentation and pinkish-red tones. It has a matte-like finish, yet it's also glossy, so it looks beautiful when you gradient it. The name 'Mac Red' is a bit misleading, as it's more of a pink-red!!! Try swatching it before you buy - I'm very satisfied with it. It applies so smoothly!!!!
ConsIt has a glossy feel, so it doesn't have the signature Mac matte finish. The longevity is slightly less due to the softer texture.
TipIt looks gorgeous when you gradient it, and it's also beautiful when you wear it full-on! Highly recommended for cool-toned skin.

And it's not too matte, which I really like~
