The ingredients: I'm very sensitive to skin, so I check the ingredients a lot. I've tried many department store brands like Armani and Lancome, as well as all kinds of drugstore foundation cushions and BB creams, but after an hour or two, I get allergic reactions in some areas. The one I found is RMS, a brand created by an American makeup artist with good ingredients, but it's only available through direct import, so I've been searching for an alternative. It seems to have the least harmful ingredients, so I bought it. The NARS Sheer Glow also has two concerning ingredients, but it's the least troublesome among easily available products, so I used it for a while before switching to Shiseido, which I started boycotting. That one also has two concerning ingredients, but I tried it right away and didn't get any breakouts after 4-5 hours. Texture: I applied it very thinly all over my face using a foundation brush and finished with a sponge. It spreads very smoothly and thinly. I don't need much coverage, and I prefer a lightweight feel, so this is perfect. It's not slippery like silicone, but has a water-based, seamless application. Longevity: I'm not sure how long it will last when I wear a mask, as I was just testing it at home. But after 4-5 hours of wear, the oil around my nose (I have combination skin) was much less than usual. For a thin formula, the finish seems to be a soft matte. Even when it starts to break down, it does so nicely.

Coverage: I don't focus too much on coverage when choosing foundation, as I care more about color correction and texture. This foundation doesn't seem to have extremely high coverage. You could build it up with multiple layers to increase the coverage, but I personally liked the slightly satin-like luminous finish when I applied it very thinly in a single layer. That's the standard I'm basing the coverage assessment on.

The Joiva 112 Face Curve Brush works really well with this foundation. You can apply the foundation by picking it up on the brush, but since I tend to focus on the central part of my face, I end up with too much product left on the brush. It's better to dot the necessary amount of foundation directly on my face and then spread it out with the brush. I chose a slightly lighter shade since I wanted to use this for color correction and luminosity in the central areas, and at first it looked a bit too bright. But when I applied it with the brush and then patted it in with a damp sponge, the tone got toned down a bit, resulting in a much more natural and radiant finish.
