It has a creamy texture and good application, with great color payoff. Before receiving it as a gift, I tried it on in the store and found that the fine shimmer particles clung to my lips and gave an slightly dated feel. Many people consider Dolce Vita as their MLBB, but when I apply Dolce Vita to my lips, the brownish tone becomes too strong, making it more of an autumnal lip pencil. When I first encountered Rikkyo and saw the swatches online, I wondered why anyone would apply such a pale color to their lips, but my lip color is actually even lighter than that pale (!) shade. When I apply Rikkyo, the color payoff is just a slight flush of color compared to my natural lip tone, making it the perfect daily lip pencil. I received the 2015 Sephora birthday gift set that included Rikkyo and Cruella, and I loved Rikkyo so much that I ended up purchasing the full-size product. Since I don't tend to do heavy makeup, I initially thought Cruella wouldn't get much use, but I found that if I apply a bit of lip balm or oil to my lips first, then layer Rikkyo on top and just dab Cruella in the center, it creates a slightly stronger flush of color on my lips.
