  Pros

  I prefer muted, lukewarm colors. From my perspective, the color is closer to cool tones than warm. It's a calm, logical color with a hint of brick red, with an MLB feel. It works well as a base lip color, and even just wearing it alone looks nice. These days, drugstore lipsticks have really improved, and there are lots of great color options, so there's often no need to splurge on expensive brands.

  Cons

  It has an artificial, chocolate-like scent. Those sensitive to fragrance may find it unpleasant. I sometimes find the smell a bit strong, but it doesn't linger after application.

  Tip

  This color is almost identical to the old Toothpaste School Genti shade. I used that one a lot, so that's probably why I'm drawn to this one as well. (The photo on the bottom right is Brickthru, and the one above it is Genti.)

  It seems like Mac really lives up to its reputation. The application is smooth, and the color is so incredibly beautiful👍🏻 I'm someone who fluctuates between cool and warm tones, and I suspect I'm more of a cool-toned person, but this lipstick looks gorgeous on its own or when paired with other lip products. Although it has a matte finish, which means it lacks that dewy, moisturized feel, the signature matte, velvety texture is just wonderful. The Brick-Chru shade seems like it would flatter most people.   For those of us with a lot of lip flakiness like me, it's best to apply a hydrating lip gloss, balm, or oil first before putting on this Mac lipstick. Otherwise, the dryness can really accentuate the flaky texture! This shade may also not be the most flattering on those with very warm skin tones.

  Applying a moisturizing lip gloss first and then layering this lipstick on top also looked quite lovely.

  Let's get the Brick Swirl in the fall... Let's get it twice... The brick red itself has a nice saturation. The color is pretty, the pigmentation is great, and the signature chocolate scent of MAC lipsticks is lovely too... There's nothing to dislike.
