The size, case texture, and everything else are great!! Except for one color. The case has become heavier and matte without any shimmer compared to the previous version, and the capacity has increased quite a bit. The part I like the most is the texture, which has a matte finish like the existing Mac matte line, but is slightly oily and applies smoothly. Over time, it dries and doesn't crack like before. It has a texture similar to mixing about 10% retro matte lipstick. It's definitely closer to matte and easier to blur. Combining the remaining half of the existing version and the renewed new Chili, this is now my 4th one, so it's like a hometown lipstick to me. Even when I don't feel like putting on anything, just tapping the remaining lip balm residue on my lips gives a decent result, and it's versatile enough to create a full lip look by lining and filling. There are many similar drugstore lipsticks, but I haven't considered cheaper options because the depth of pigment dispersion and subtle differences are too many when applied sheer.
ConsThe color has changed very subtly...haha. Those of us who are deeply in love with chili and are n-tempers can easily notice the difference. When applied lightly, there is no difference. If you swatch it on your wrist or build it up towards the center of your lips, the difference becomes clearly visible. The original version had a definite brown tone and really looked like 'chili', but the renewed version has lost a lot of the brown, making it look clearer...It seems like the identity of chili has been lost..ㅠㅠㅠ It's not a completely different color, but the change is so subtle that it's kind of stressful haha. If it had been a completely different color, I could have just cursed it out and cleanly cut ties, but that's not the case either.
